HR Director

Company Overview:

Our client is a leading European automotive manufacturer based in Tokyo.

Main Responsibilities:

The HR Director will foster a high-performance culture by spearheading strategic HR initiatives in alignment with the management team. The role involves creating an environment conducive to excellence, ensuring policies and processes meet evolving business needs, and driving adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Development:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive HR strategies and plans.
  • Lead succession planning, workforce planning, and HR policy creation.
  • Ensure HR processes are aligned with business objectives and contribute to organizational growth.

HR Administration and Support:

  • Oversee compensation, benefits, payroll, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Manage conflict resolution processes and employee rehabilitation programs.

Organizational Change Management:

  • Act as a change agent to support transformation initiatives.
  • Conduct gap analyses, formulate action plans, and manage communication strategies.

HR Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and regulations.
  • Manage union relations, terminations, and other labor relations activities.

HR Team Management:

  • Lead, inspire, and manage the HR team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Establish objectives, monitor performance, and foster employee engagement.

Health & Safety Development:

  • Implement and maintain safety and health policies in the workplace.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work culture across the organization.

Representation:

  • Represent the company in employer branding activities and engage with regulatory bodies.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive systemized improvement initiatives and adopt best practices for HR functions.

  • Personal Competencies: Guide and Apply.

Key Interfaces:

  • Internal and external stakeholders, including customers, dealers, service teams, sales teams, and unions.

Applicable Standards:

  • Strategic HR management principles.
  • Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards.
  • Internal company processes and protocols.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven expertise in similar roles, ideally within the heavy vehicle or B2B industry.
  • Managerial and leadership experience, preferably with P&L responsibility.
  • Fluency in English (additional language skills are a plus).
