The Company Japan Director Commercial Finance is an exciting senior role for an individual who has the desire to build a strong career in the company. This finance leader plays a critical role by working closely with 4 Business Unit Heads and other Department Heads to deliver superior financial / business results. This role is supported by 4 staff while at the same time supporting CFO leadership with 3 Business Unit Controllers. The team responsibility is to focus on supporting business performance, providing thought leadership and analytical frameworks to deliver and enhance financial performance of the business. In addition, the incumbent supports and liaises on business development activities. Additional responsibilities are also in talent development, coaching and training, as well as keeping a business partner support focused culture. Critical to the role's success will be unquestionable integrity/ethics, strong leadership and relationship skills, sound business acumen and a proven talent development record. The position reports to the CFO of the company in Japan.

Responsibilities Include

:

• leading the financial business planning and strategic planning processes
• working with top management on various financial and strategic decision supports
• provides strong P&L, Balance Sheet and other KPI management
• operational partnership with region & corporate finance colleagues
• leading global and AP finance initiatives
• member of cross sector Business Unit Finance Council
• support roll-out of Global FP&A (TM1) implementation
• support the evolution to the ES&P model in Japan and the region
• partner with Procurement and other functions to drive cost saving initiatives and validate savings amounts

Qualifications

• Strong finance skills preferably with CPA, CA, and/or MBA
• Leadership skills supported by broad business experience and strong business acumen
• Strong framing and communication skills; communicating complex situations simply and effectively to top leadership
• Network/relationship building skills
• Strong analytical skills with high IT literacy
• Multinational company experience is preferable and overseas study / work experience a plus
