Job Summary:

Our client, a leading company in the retail industry, is seeking a Business Controller to join their Japanese subsidiary. This role involves managing and improving financial performance, supporting business managers in understanding and achieving financial goals, and contributing to the overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead accounting functions, including accounts payable, treasury, and expense management.
• Prepare and manage financial statements, audits, and tax filings.
• Identify opportunities for financial and operational improvement and develop action plans.
• Support daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, including financial analysis and KPI interpretation.
• Ensure the accuracy and relevance of financial information and projections.
• Collaborate closely with the CFO and other stakeholders to drive business goals.

Requirements:

• College degree or equivalent, with at least Level 2 in bookkeeping.
• 8+ years of finance experience, with strong knowledge of business processes and base accounting.
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and financial systems.
• Business-level English and Japanese language skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience in the automotive industry is welcomed but not required.

Candidate Profile:

• Preferably under 50 years of age.
• Stable work history
• Eligible for a spouse visa or permanent residence.
• Enthusiastic about the automotive industry and strong communication skills.
