Information Technology Associate Director

Reporting to the Regional AMS Director, this position is responsible for Maintenance, Support, and Operations of all business applications within Japan's IT Service Portfolio.


The incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

1) Demand Management: Drives Business-IT outcomes; manages communications and expectations with the business clients; simplifies IT engagement by serving as the primary point of interaction and contact with the business. Also, partners with IT Capabilities and Platform teams to support the smooth roll-out of IT solutions with an effective Support model.

2) Supplier Management: Manages the global and local suppliers who provide MS&O support for systems in the scope of AMS organization. This position must participate in the governance defined for the supplier agreements, guarantee the service levels, while making sure that the supplier is fully aligned to Global IT Processes and in company Policies.

3) Service Management: Manages a defined service unit and drive a continuous improvement process. Overall accountability to manage and implement end-to-end MS&O services for existing and newly implemented business applications, in collaboration with Divisional IT Client Services, Technology Operations counterparts, and Singapore hub Capability/Platform teams. Establish a metric/performance reporting approach. Provides early-warning to the executives regarding degrading or missed service levels.

4) People management: Manages the Internal team members as well as Vendor resources; builds a strategic IT capability for the client through strategic staffing, and organizational development, as well as employee recruitment, retention, and development.

5) Financial/ Contract management: Owns and manages the team budget including the operating budget related to applications under the team`s scope, team`s T&E management, and all contract management.

Education Level:

Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant IT Operation experience preferably in Pharmaceutical Industry

Experience Level:

•           Extensive background in ITIL/SDLC/Agile/DevSecOps

•           Experience with customer engagement systems such as Veeva CRM/Engage/Events, SalesForce Marketing Cloud along with the understanding of AWS Cloud Services/Technologies

•           Demonstrated Strategic and Tactical skills along with strong Functional/Technical leadership

•           Strong people management experience and workforce management including geographically distributed external strategic partners

•           Strong interpersonal and change management skills

•           Effective communication with the ability to present technical information in a way that establishes rapport persuades others and gains understanding

•           Ability to achieve goals through others without having direct responsibility for them is critical

•           Ability to succeed in a dynamic, rapidly changing, highly matrixed environment

•            Ability to accomplish objectives while working with the Global AMS team, IT divisional leaders, and Country IT teams
